This course will teach students the basics of virology with an emphasis on SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19. Students will also gain knowledge about different methods of viral testing, antiviral drugs, and vaccine development. Students will also gain experience reading and discussing basic scientific papers that are written specifically for students in middle and high school. Virtual labs and simulations will be used to show students how real lab techniques are done.
